The Archetypes Session 2
Spring
In this session we explore the three archetypes associated with the season of Spring:
A Story
The story of Tatterhood illustrates these first three archetypes. Tatterhood is a folktale first written down in Norway but carried in the oral tradition for much longer. The story traces her unique way of being in the world from the daughter phase, through the maiden and into the blood sister phase. As you listen to this telling of Tatterhood’s story notice what stands out to you. Which of the three archetypes of the Spring season is calling to you?
Reflection Questions
When and how do you access these archetypes?
What is your tendency while you are there?
Which ones do you never / rarely access? Which are under-expressed or feel most uncomfortable?
What is calling for healing from these three archetypes?
The Healing Time
by Pesha Gertler
Finally on my way to yes
I bump into
all the places
where I said no
to my life
all the unintended wounds
the red and purple scars
those hieroglyphs of pain
carved into my skin, my bones,
those coded messages
that send me down
the wrong street
again and again
where I find them
the old wounds
the old misdirections
and I lift them
one by one
close to my heart
and I say holy,
holy
